Hello everyone!!!
We are back after a nice Golden Week Holiday! I hope you all had fun relaxing with such lovely weather!
Today we learned about the 3 Sisters method of growing vegetables. The three sisters are corn, squash (pumpkin), and beans. A long time ago, the American Native Indians grew their vegetables this way and shared this technique with the American Settlers.
The idea is to create a perfect growing situation for each plant. The beans produce lots of Nitrogen for everyone. The corn provides support for the beans to climb. And the squash grow along the bottom for keep moisture in the soil.
We also added seaweed to the top of the soil to give a boost of Nitrogen. Let`s hope for a good harvest!!!
See you next week!!!
